Ephesians 4:1-6 Unity1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you[a] all.
How do we as different organizations walk in unity?
I have ask myself this question many times to get a real understanding and meaning of Unity with different Biblical Views. The answer was so simple a child could understand it. Before I give you the formula, I want to tell you a true story about my son as a young teen and his mindset that made me stop and think about things. A local Pastor and I were in the yard of the church I pastored and were having a discussion about a church merge. It was difficult to him and I because he was of one denomination and I was of another. In the midst of the conversation, my son stopped to give us both the solution. He said, "Dad you call your overseer and let Pastor ___ call his overseer and tell them you are going to merge churches". Understand, my son could not see the man made walls created that would hinder this type of merge. So I told him that mindset excites me, because it was so innocent and pure, but it is not that easy. So, to continue with the formula I feel some fellow Pastors and I came up with was this; Simply put we all have one thing in common and that is, you must be born again, Jesus Christ is the one and only Savior and without His salvation we will go to hell. We also believe that He died and arose again and sent the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost as a comforter, guide teacher, etc. This is enough glue to bind us together to do the work for Jesus until He comes back as He said He would do. So lets keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace until He come for us and lets win the lost souls to Jesus and lets work together to make Jesus and the Church look desirable to those who are not believers or those confused or hurt. We have a mighty army if we can just get each platoon together for the fight.
In Jesus Name,
